Job summary

Lefebvre Sdu is seeking a Senior Backend Developer to help build GenIA-L, the AI-first legal platform. You'll join the Knowledge Team, turning vast document collections into searchable knowledge for AI agents, focusing on accurate surface retrieval and liability-safe answers.

The role combines hands-on coding in Python and Java with system design, retrieval, and knowledge extraction. You’ll influence architecture from day one and collaborate across legal and tech teams, with a hybrid work setup

Qualifications

• Experience with Python and Java.
• Experience with Elasticsearch.
• Experience with Scala or Kotlin is a plus.
• You come from SaaS, product-driven organization, or scale-up and thrive on autonomy.

Responsibilities

• Build and improve the pipeline that turns content into knowledge our AI agents can use.
• Work on reranking quality, so the agent gets the right information, not just the most information.
• Shape the approach to retrieval and knowledge extraction, bringing in what you've seen work elsewhere.
• Work in Python for everything new, and in Java where the existing codebase calls for it.
• Make technical decisions, even when no one is looking over your shoulder.
