Job summary

Priva Energy is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to design and build backend services across Neo Heat, Neo Light, Neo Building, and Neo Smart, with occasional frontend work to speed value delivery.

You will contribute to production-grade cloud infrastructure, data pipelines, and integration with optimization/forecasting models, while collaborating with cross‑functional teams. Based in the Netherlands, expect a versatile role spanning backend, cloud, and DevOps.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an IT-related field.
• Around 5 years of software engineering experience across backend/production systems, cloud infrastructure, front-end, or optimization integration.
• Production experience with real projects and examples to discuss.
• Experience with Python, Azure, Docker, Kubernetes/CI-CD tooling, SQL, Linux, and React/TypeScript is advantageous.
• Based in the Netherlands and available to work in the office 2–3 days per week.

Responsibilities

• Design and build backend services for products across Neo Heat, Neo Light, Neo Building, and Neo Smart.
• Contribute to user-facing Priva Digital Services features end-to-end, including frontend work when shipping value.
• Build and maintain APIs for internal and external integrations.
• Integrate optimization and forecasting logic into scalable production systems.
• Own and improve cloud infrastructure (Azure) and CI/CD, monitoring, and deployment practices.
