Job summary

Organon in Oss, Netherlands, is expanding its state-of-the-art manufacturing operations and seeks a Senior Design Engineer Automation to lead design, integration and commissioning of advanced automation systems for new facilities and equipment.

The role requires 7+ years in industrial automation, strong PLC experience (Siemens/Rockwell), DCS/SCADA know-how (iFix), and deep GMP/GAMP understanding, with travel across Europe as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Automation or a related discipline.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in industrial automation projects.
• Strong PLC programming and automation experience, preferably with Siemens and/or Rockwell platforms.
• Experience with DCS and SCADA systems, ideally iFix.
• Proven experience in equipment integration, commissioning and start-up activities.
• Hands-on experience with FAT, SAT, IQ, OQ and PQ testing.
• Experience within pharmaceutical, biotechnology or life sciences manufacturing environments.
• Strong understanding of GMP and GAMP compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Design and engineer automation solutions that meet regulatory requirements.
• Conduct requirements analysis, impact assessments and risk evaluations.
• Support integration and implementation of new manufacturing systems and equipment.
• Plan, execute and document FAT, SAT, IQ, OQ and PQ activities.
• Collaborate with system vendors and engineering partners throughout project delivery.
• Troubleshoot technical challenges and drive resolution during project execution.
• Support project planning, scoping, and technical decision-making.
• Monitor project progress and identify risks and deviations; ensure GMP/GAMP compliance.
