Job summary

Flynn and Chase is seeking an Amsterdam-based Associate for its M&A and Strategic Advisory desk. You will lead live mandates end-to-end, from origination to closing, and interact directly with founders, PE sponsors, and boards. You will drive valuation, identify buyers, and manage processes while coaching junior staff.

The role offers day-to-day exposure to cross-border Benelux and international transactions, with a strong emphasis on execution, client management, and strategic advisory work.

Qualifications

We are partnering on a Associate search for one of the most respected independent corporate finance houses in the Benelux. Since 2002 the firm has closed more than 500 transactions valued over EUR 50 billion, in the sweet spot of the Dutch and Belgian mid-market.

The firm advises founders, families, corporates, management teams and private equity sponsors with a genuinely independent mandate.

The role

Amsterdam-based Associate joining the M&A and Strategic Advisory practice. You will lead workstreams and mandates end-to-end – origination, execution and closing – reporting directly to the M&A partners, with day-to-day exposure to founders, PE sponsors, corporate strategics and management teams.

Deal mix will span:

• Sell-side mandates for PE portfolio companies, family owners and corporates
• Buy-side and add-on acquisitions for domestic and international sponsors
• Broad auctions through to bilateral negotiated deals
• Management buy-ins and buy-outs
• Spin-offs, carve-outs and de-mergers
• Independent board advice and fairness opinions
• Cross-border processes across Benelux, DACH, France and UK

What you will actually do

• Execution of live M&A mandates – you are the deal lead, not the analyst
• Run process management from IM through to signing and closing
• Sit opposite CEOs, CFOs, sponsors and boards as the day-to-day point of contact
• Drive valuation work, positioning, buyer identification and negotiation
• Coach and develop Associates and Analysts on the desk
• Contribute to origination – bring your own network of sponsors, corporates and advisors into the franchise
• Work closely with the debt advisory practice on integrated financing-linked and dual-track processes

What we are looking for

• 2–4 years in M&A advisory or corporate finance
• Currently at a bulge bracket, elite boutique, mid-market advisor or Big 4 corporate finance
• Live experience on Dutch mid-market or Benelux M&A transactions
• Strong technical toolkit: valuation (DCF, LBO, precedent, comps), operating models, SPA mechanics, process management
• Genuine deal quarterback profile – you have run processes, managed workstreams and interfaced directly with clients and counterparties
• Sector-agnostic generalist background preferred; TMT, business services, industrials, healthcare or consumer coverage a plus
• Master's degree in a relevant discipline
• Full professional working proficiency in Dutch and English
