Job summary

Fairphone is hiring a Software Engineer to lead the integration of partner-specific software within our Android ecosystem. You will architect and implement integration layers, bridging Fairphone’s open-source and production code with partner components and ODMs.

Reporting to the Head of Software Engineering, you will manage timelines, vendor relationships, and ensure quality, scalable solutions aligned with Fairphone’s mission and enterprise workflows.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on Android ecosystem experience.
• Strong in core Android and chipset stacks (C/C++, Rust, Java, Kotlin).
• Experience leading technical discussions with external partners.
• Familiar with AI/ML integration in Android and OSS development.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement software bridges and integration layers for partner components in the Android stack.
• Provide technical guidance to ODMs to integrate their solutions into Fairphone's Android ecosystem.
• Ensure lifecycle integration from bring-up to maintenance and collaborate with QA teams.
• Own technical documentation for partner integration projects and coordinate timelines with vendors.
