Job summary

TomTom International BV is seeking an Applied Scientist for the MAPS POIs team to design, develop and deploy data-driven ML solutions that improve map accuracy and POI coverage. You will translate complex data into production-ready models and work across domains to deliver scalable AI services.

You will lead end-to-end AI/ML initiatives, mentor junior scientists, review code, and align product and engineering priorities.

Qualifications

• Strong, up-to-date expertise in Applied Science and Machine Learning techniques, ideally within POI or geospatial domains.
• Proven ability to design, build, and deploy scalable AI/ML systems in production.
• Demonstrated ability to solve complex, ambiguous problems with data-driven approaches.
• Experience developing algorithmic solutions and ML models for real-world scale.
• Deep understanding of system design and architecture and influence on technical direction.
• Experience mentoring others and improving team capability.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, implementation, and integration of scalable AI/ML systems within the POI domain.
• Own end-to-end AI/ML solutions for large-scale initiatives and ensure quality and maintainability.
• Develop production-grade ML models for real-world use cases at scale.
• Shape technical architecture and influence decisions across teams and leadership.
• Provide technical leadership and perform thorough code reviews.
