Job summary

HEMA in Amsterdam is seeking a Security Engineer to strengthen digital defenses across cloud and infrastructure. You will lead security assessments, design automation, and act as escalation point for alerts.

The role requires a degree in IT/cybersecurity, hands-on cloud experience (AWS or Azure), knowledge of OWASP Top 10, and experience with SIEM Microsoft Sentinel. We offer a competitive salary, 30 vacation days, 8% holiday pay, up to 14% bonus, travel allowance, pension, and staff discounts.

Qualifications

Completed degree in IT, cybersecurity, or related field.
Hands-on security engineering experience.
Strong analytical, process-driven mindset.
Experience with at least one cloud platform (AWS or Azure).
Solid grasp of TCP/IP, routing, VLANs, SFTP, SMTP.

Responsibilities

Lead security assessments, investigations, and penetration tests, translating findings into improvements.
Design, automate, and maintain security processes and documentation for cloud and infrastructure (ISMS).
Act as escalation point for critical security alerts, driving resolution with stakeholders.
Identify risks and implement scalable, structural security solutions.
Coach and support less experienced colleagues; propose smarter automation ideas.
