Job summary

Vallum Associates in the Netherlands is seeking a Security Commissioning Lead to manage the commissioning of Access Control and CCTV systems on hyperscale data centre projects. You will oversee a small team of Commissioning Engineers, drive tests and documentation through to client acceptance.

The role requires strong CCURE knowledge, IP networking within electronic security, and proven leadership in complex construction environments.

Qualifications

• Extensive commissioning of Access Control and CCTV systems in data centres.
• Strong CCURE experience; CCURE certification desirable.
• IP networking knowledge within electronic security systems.
• Excellent written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Lead the commissioning of Access Control and CCTV systems across the project.
• Coordinate and support a team of Security Commissioning Engineers.
• Plan and oversee testing: point-to-point, device, functional and system-level.
• Oversee commissioning of Access Control equipment including controllers, readers, door hardware, alarms.
• Oversee CCTV commissioning including IP cameras, network connectivity, recording and VMS/NVR functionality.
• Ensure approved test scripts and commissioning procedures are correctly executed.
• Coordinate witnessed and integrated systems testing.
• Manage commissioning defects, blockers, rectification and retesting.
• Lead fault-finding across devices, cabling, configuration and network interfaces.
• Coordinate with installation teams, vendors and other disciplines.
• Take ownership of commissioning documentation and evidence.
• Ensure systems are fully tested and ready for client handover.

The Opportunity

We are supporting a specialist European technology contractor delivering high-specification electronic security systems across major hyperscale data centre projects.

Due to an immediate project requirement in the Netherlands, we are looking for an experienced Security Commissioning Lead to lead the commissioning of Access Control and CCTV systems.

You will oversee a small commissioning team, drive the Cx works through to acceptance and take ownership of the associated commissioning documentation and evidence.

Responsibilities

• Lead the commissioning of Access Control and CCTV systems across the project.
• Coordinate and support a team of Security Commissioning Engineers.
• Plan and oversee point-to-point, device, functional and system-level testing.
• Oversee commissioning of Access Control equipment including controllers, card readers, door contacts, request-to-exit devices, locking interfaces and alarms.
• Oversee CCTV commissioning including IP cameras, network connectivity, recording and VMS/NVR functionality.
• Ensure approved test scripts and commissioning procedures are correctly executed.
• Coordinate witnessed and integrated systems testing.
• Manage commissioning defects, technical blockers, rectification and retesting.
• Lead fault-finding and troubleshooting across devices, cabling, configuration and network interfaces.
• Coordinate with installation teams, specialist vendors and other project disciplines.
• Take ownership of commissioning documentation, test records, status reporting and supporting evidence.
• Ensure systems are fully tested, evidenced and ready for client acceptance and handover.

The technical scope reflects the supplied Security Commissioning Engineer JD, including Access

Control/CCTV testing, functional testing, troubleshooting, defect closure and handover documentation.

Requirements

• Strong background in electronic security commissioning, ideally within data centres, mission-critical or other complex construction environments.
• Proven experience commissioning Access Control and CCTV systems.
• Strong CCURE experience/knowledge.
• CCURE certification highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of controllers, readers, door hardware/interfaces and associated field devices.
• Strong CCTV knowledge including IP cameras and VMS/NVR platforms.
• Experience leading commissioning activities and coordinating Cx engineers.
• Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting capability.
• Good understanding of IP networking within electronic security systems.
• Able to interpret drawings, schematics, device schedules and specifications.
• Strong commissioning documentation and reporting capability.
• Experience working with specialist security vendors/manufacturers.
• Working knowledge of QA/QC, RAMS and permit systems.
• VCA VOL required for the Netherlands project.
• Excellent written and spoken English.

The underlying technical requirements are supported by the supplied Security Cx JD, which requires practical Access Control/CCTV commissioning, point-to-point and functional testing, IP networking, fault finding and commissioning documentation.
