Job summary

Vallum Associates seeks a Security Commissioning Engineer to support testing and commissioning of Access Control and CCTV in data centre projects across the Netherlands, with potential work in Belgium and Austria. You will execute commissioning scripts, diagnose faults and document results for handover.

Experience with IP networking, drawing interpretation and CCURE is highly valued; VCA certification is required for the current Netherlands assignment.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience commissioning Access Control, CCTV or electronic security systems.
• Understand IP networking within electronic security systems and fault finding.
• Ability to interpret drawings, schematics and technical specifications.
• Data centre / mission-critical experience is advantageous but not essential.
• CCURE experience is highly desirable, particularly for the Netherlands requirement.
• Relevant VCA certification required for the Netherlands project.

Responsibilities

• Commission and test Access Control and CCTV systems.
• Carry out point-to-point, device, functional and system-level testing.
• Commission controllers, card readers, door contacts, request-to-exit devices, locking interfaces and alarms.
• Commission IP CCTV systems including cameras, network connectivity, recording and VMS/NVR functionality.
• Execute approved commissioning test scripts and support witnessed/integrated testing.
• Diagnose faults across devices, cabling, configuration and network interfaces.
• Record defects and manage retesting through to successful closure.
• Maintain accurate commissioning check sheets, test records and supporting evidence.
• Support interfaces with fire alarm, network infrastructure, intercom and other third-party systems.
• Work with specialist vendors during configuration, troubleshooting and testing.
• Support final documentation and handover.

The Opportunity

We are supporting a specialist European technology contractor delivering high-specification electronic security packages across major data centre developments.

Due to continued project growth across mainland Europe, we are looking for experienced Security Commissioning Engineers to support the testing, commissioning and technical verification of Access Control and CCTV systems.

The immediate priority is within the Netherlands, with further requirements expected across Belgium and Austria.

Responsibilities

• Commission and test Access Control and CCTV systems.
• Carry out point-to-point, device, functional and system-level testing.

Requirements

• Proven hands-on experience commissioning Access Control, CCTV or electronic security systems.
• Strong understanding of Access Control field devices and CCTV systems.
• Experience with point-to-point checks, functional testing and commissioning procedures.
• Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting capability.
• Understanding of IP networking within electronic security systems.
• Able to interpret drawings, schematics and technical specifications.
• Experience producing commissioning records and defect documentation.
• Data centre / mission-critical experience advantageous but not essential.
• CCURE experience is highly desirable, particularly for the Netherlands requirement.
• Relevant VCA certification required for the immediate Netherlands project.
