Job summary

Van Oord is seeking a Second Engineer for our Water Injection Dredging vessels. You will be the technical expert on board, running dredging and propulsion systems and taking full responsibility with onshore support when needed.

You will lead maintenance and improvements of automated water injection systems, ensure safety, document operations and report performance, while working in an international crew with a four weeks on/ four weeks off rotation.

Qualifications

• Valid COC Second Engineer and all required certificates.
• Proven experience as Second Engineer or Chief Engineer.
• Passion for technology, automation and innovation.
• Strong problem solving skills; ability to act quickly when needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead maintenance, troubleshooting and improvement of the automated water injection system, from pumps to nozzles, ensuring optimal performance.
• Protect the team and the environment by strictly following safety procedures and regulations.
• Work closely with the crew to ensure every operation runs smoothly.
• Monitor operational data, provide clear reports and help identify and resolve issues.
