SAP FICO Business Process Expert (In-house) – Corbion Amsterdam, North Holland, Netherlands

Purpose of the job

As a Business Process Expert Finance to Manage (FTM), you will be the key link between Corbion’s Finance organization and IT, focusing on the SAP S/4HANA Controlling module. Your mission is to maximize the value of Corbion’s ERP template by ensuring optimal and standardized use of SAP S/4HANA in the Finance to Manage workstream, especially in Controlling. Only candidates already residing in the Netherlands will be considered for this role.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the primary contact and sparring partner for Business Controllers globally regarding SAP Controlling processes, requirements, and improvements.
• Translate business needs from Business Controllers into clear SAP requirements and functional specifications, bridging the gap between Finance and IT.
• Collaborate with external SAP consultants who perform system configuration and development; validate and test their deliverables before release.
• Work with SAP to build a roadmap with new functionality and innovative solutions.
• Support and guide Finance users in adopting best practices, ensuring efficient and correct use of SAP S/4HANA.
• Lead and participate in projects and change requests, ensuring timely and effective delivery.
• Manage and prioritize incidents and change requests, working with both internal stakeholders and external partners.
• Develop and maintain system documentation, user guides, and training materials.
• Foster a culture of “first time right” execution and continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with Corbion’s policies on incident, change, and release management, as well as data governance and security.
• Occasionally travel between Amsterdam and Gorinchem and to other Corbion locations as needed.

You bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred, but not required).
• 5–10 years of experience as an SAP expert or consultant, with hands-on experience in SAP Controlling (preferably including module implementation).
• Deep expertise in SAP Controlling, especially in Profitability Analysis, Product Costing, and Parallel Valuation.
• Strong technical background: able to validate and test SAP configuration and code, not just functional knowledge.
• Proven ability to translate Finance requirements into SAP solutions and to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Excellent communication skills in English (all documentation and meetings are in English).
• Strong project management skills; able to independently lead projects.
• Resilience and assertiveness: able to stand your ground with demanding stakeholders and provide constructive challenge.
• Experience with process optimization and continuous improvement in an international setting.
• Willingness to work on-site in Amsterdam at least 3 days per week, with flexibility to work from Gorinchem or home as needed.
