Job summary

FOUR PAWS is seeking a part-time maintenance assistant to inspect enclosures, run preventative repairs, and support water systems at the FELIDA Big Cat Sanctuary. The role emphasizes carpentry and construction tasks, with a background in technical fields and Dutch as the native language; English is a plus.

The position starts 1 October 2026, offering 25 days annual leave and a supportive, animal‑friendly workplace.

Qualifications

• Relevant experience in technical work, preferably with a focus on carpentry, construction and installation activities.
• Educational background in construction, engineering, or another relevant technical field.
• Native Dutch speaker; proficiency in English preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performing routine inspections of animal enclosures, buildings, technical installations, and grounds.
• Carrying out preventative maintenance and repair work.
• Assisting with maintenance of animal pools and water systems.
• Supporting the construction and repair of animal platforms and enrichment items.
• Maintaining sanctuary grounds through mowing, weeding and general landscaping.
• Keeping maintenance records and inspection logs up to date.
