Job description

We design chemistry. Yes, chemistry. The spark between people. The energy in the room. The collective genius that rises from a group. At Venue Collective, we believe an event that feels magical isn’t magic at all. It’s science. And we’ve studied it for years. We design the entire journey, from arrival to departure. Our ingredients: space, food, drinks, scent, energy, light and air. We obsess over every detail, with dedication and resourcefulness. We add breathing room, right where people need it. The perfect conditions for your crowd to naturally cross paths and spark new ideas. Because we believe that when relationships grow, the business follows. And we make it seem like it all happened effortlessly. Except it didn’t. We designed it. Because chemistry is our business. The right place at the right time.

Venue Collective offers a professional, dynamic environment where hospitality, design, and service excellence come together to create memorable business events.

What will you do?

You are often the first personal point of contact a client has with Venue Collective. You don’t wait for things to happen; you take the initiative. With genuine curiosity, you discover what someone truly wants to achieve: not only how many guests will attend and what the budget is, but above all what the event should set in motion.

You then translate those ambitions into a clear and creative proposal. You advise clients on the venue, spaces, set-up, catering, technology and logistics. If their first choice isn’t possible, you don’t simply see a problem. You explore what is possible and help the client find an alternative that works.

You manage the commercial process, follow up on proposals personally and guide the client towards a decision. You keep an eye on revenue and margins, as well as quality and operational feasibility. After all, a booking is only truly successful when the client’s expectations match what we can deliver.

Once the booking is confirmed, you provide Operations with a complete handover. That means colleagues and clients never have to wonder whether something has been taken care of: the agreements are clear and everyone knows what needs to happen.

In practice, you will:
  • Manage incoming enquiries from our website, email, telephone, partners and existing relationships.
  • Respond quickly, personally and professionally.
  • Ask the right questions about the event’s purpose, programme, budget and desired outcome.
  • Advise clients on spaces, set-ups, catering, technology and additional services.
  • Prepare clear proposals, options and contracts.
  • Follow up on proposals actively and discuss any questions or concerns.
  • Negotiate professionally and ask for the booking at the right moment.
  • Safeguard pricing, margins, discounts and commercial terms.
  • Identify opportunities for additional revenue and future bookings.
  • Record all agreements and results accurately in the CRM.
  • Provide Operations with a complete and workable handover.
  • Share insights that help us continuously improve our propositions and commercial approach.
Who are you?

You are commercially minded, but never pushy. You ask good questions, give people your full attention and make complex choices feel straightforward. Clients quickly feel at ease with you because you communicate clearly and show that you understand their event.

You thrive on pace and responsibility. Even when several enquiries are moving at the same time, you maintain an overview without losing sight of the details. You think ahead, remove unnecessary friction and adapt easily when the situation calls for it.

You also:

  • Have experience in event sales, venue sales, hospitality or commercial client advisory.
  • Get energy from client contact, advising, following up and closing.
  • Combine commercial awareness with genuine hospitality.
  • Think in possibilities and confidently suggest alternatives.
  • Work independently, methodically and accurately.
  • Know when to listen, when to advise and when to move things forward.
  • Are comfortable working with a CRM system.
  • Have an excellent command of Dutch and English, both spoken and written.
  • Have an affinity with business events and the power of bringing people together.
What do we offer?
  • A key commercial role within an ambitious events company.
  • An inspiring working environment at distinctive venues in Amsterdam.
  • Plenty of freedom and responsibility throughout the booking process.
  • Contact with a varied and often international client base.
  • An engaged team in which Sales and Operations work closely together.
  • Room to contribute ideas and help develop our commercial approach.
  • Opportunities to keep growing, both professionally and personally.
  • A competitive employment package based on your experience.
