Job summary

Zurich Insurance in Den Haag is seeking a Risk Engineer/Consultant Construction & Liability to assess complex risks and advise customers, underwriting and other stakeholders. You will conduct site surveys, provide pragmatic risk recommendations and collaborate with a global network of risk professionals across disciplines to deliver holistic solutions.

The role offers full-time or part-time options with occasional travel in Benelux and internationally, and a strong focus on professional

Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering, Construction, or another relevant technical discipline.
  • Experience in construction, liability, risk engineering or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of construction risks, project execution, quality and safety standards, and risk management principles.
  • Experience with complex commercial and/or industrial construction projects is preferred.
  • Ability to analyse complex risks and translate findings into practical recommendations.
  • Strong communication, relationship-building and stakeholder management skills.
  • Collaborative mindset with an interest in working across multiple risk disciplines.
  • Professional accreditation, international experience and additional language skills are an advantage.

  • Contribute to knowledge sharing, business development and the continuous enhancement of Zurich's risk consulting capabilities.

Role Overview:

This is an exciting opportunity to join Zurich Resilience Solutions (ZRS) Benelux as a Risk Engineer / Consultant Construction & Liability. In this role, you will assess complex construction and liability risks and act as a trusted advisor to customers, Underwriting and other key stakeholders. You will help customers identify, evaluate and manage risks across construction projects, operations, products and services, supporting both resilience and informed underwriting decisions. Drawing on your technical expertise and practical experience, you will provide risk consulting services, conduct site surveys and assessments, and deliver pragmatic recommendations that help customers manage risk effectively. As part of Zurich Resilience Solutions, a global network of approximately 1,000 risk professionals, you will collaborate with experts across disciplines including Property, Marine, Energy, Natural Hazards & Climate, Cyber and Business Continuity to deliver holistic risk solutions. This is a full-time or part-time role with occasional travel in Benelux and internationally.
