Risk and Performance Professional

Due to the rapidly growing number of customers and assets under management, Cardano is looking for a Junior Risk and Performance Professional. Do you have a broad interest in risk and performance management? Do you like to think alongside the portfolios and assets we manage in terms of risk and performance measurement, analysis and advisory? Are you analytically strong, structured and do you have an eye for detail? Then we are looking for you! Your role

As a Risk and Performance Professional, you play an important role in identifying and assessing the investment risks and performance drivers associated with the investment funds and client mandates we manage as Cardano. You participate in our daily oversight activities but also in projects and contribute to these from a risk and investment performance management perspective. Your focus is to further optimize our independent investment risk and performance oversight function regarding the measurement and analysis of investment risk, investment performance and its drivers, as a core activity of our second line of defence. You play a vital role in enhancing our investment risk and performance framework and in providing quality reviews of these investment risk and performance matters with our risk & performance systems.

We are looking for an inquisitive colleague who wants to develop broadly in the field of investment risk and performance management. You enjoy collaborating with colleagues within the team and the organization, but you can also work independently. You are capable of thinking analytically and identifying the core of a complex problem. You like to bring structure and have an eye for detail. You are not shy and are happy to engage in constructive discussions.

Your team

The Risk team currently consists of nine professionals in Rotterdam. As a team, our main responsibilities are to set up and maintain the risk and performance management policy, facilitate its implementation and ensure a strong risk management culture. To achieve this, we interact a lot with all teams within Cardano Netherlands and the wider Mercer group.

Completed university education in Finance, Economics, Risk Management or a related field.
A maximum of two years of work experience, demonstrably in the field of investment risk and investment performance (measurement and analysis).
Proactive attitude and enjoyment of taking on challenges.
Apply structure and have an eye for detail.
Excellent analytical skills and an interest in investment risk management and investment performance management and analytics.
True team player and enjoy collaborating with direct colleagues and those from other teams in the organisation, but able to work independently.
Clear expression in both Dutch and English.
