Network Recruitment seeks an experienced Rigging Technician in Middelburg to lead lifting operations across installation, relocation, and maintenance of plant equipment. You will plan and execute lifts safely while inspecting gear and reading plans.
The role requires a qualified Rigger Trade Certificate, 5–8 years within heavy industry, and relocation to the Middelburg area. A strong safety mindset and teamwork are essential.
Perform rigging activities related to the installation, relocation, maintenance, and removal of plant equipment. Safely plan and execute lifting operations in accordance with established procedures and safety standards. Inspect lifting equipment, lifting tackle, chains, slings, and associated rigging gear. Ensure all lifting activities comply with legal and operational requirements. Assist with plant shutdowns, maintenance projects, and equipment upgrades. Support maintenance and production teams during equipment breakdowns and repairs. Participate in plant improvement initiatives and production-related activities where required. Identify potential hazards and contribute to a strong safety culture. Complete relevant documentation, inspections, and reporting requirements.
Qualified Rigger Trade Certificate. 5-8 years of post-trade experience within manufacturing, engineering, mining, or heavy industrial environments. Proven experience with lifting operations, equipment installation, and maintenance support. Sound knowledge of lifting equipment, rigging principles, and safety regulations. Ability to read technical drawings and lifting plans. Strong understanding of plant operations and maintenance practices. Valid driver's licence. Must be based in or willing to relocate to the Middelburg area.
