Job summary

Alpin Haus, based in Amsterdam, is seeking a friendly Retail Sales Associate for a part-time role (10-25 hours per week). You will engage customers, provide product information, and recommend purchases to close sales, with a commission component.

Weekend and evening availability is required to support store operations and meet monthly targets. Enthusiasm for skiing or snowboarding is desirable, and previous retail or customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Generate sales that meet or exceed monthly targets.
• Anticipate customer needs and suggestively sell products and services to enhance the customer’s outdoor experience.
• Arrange merchandise within the store and window displays in an appealing and creative way to encourage increased sales.
• Provide buyer/customer assistance in all areas of the retail store as needed, to ensure a friendly, positive, and professional shopping experience.
• Test customer water samples and provide guidance for proper water care of pools and spas.
• Assist in the unloading of trucks and stocking of merchandise.
• Maintain showroom and stock areas by organizing shelves, folding and hanging merchandise according to size and style, and performing light housekeeping duties throughout the workday.
• Identify merchandise trends and make recommendations to management for new product offerings.

Pay

$17-$20/hour plus commission

Schedule

Part-time, 10-25 hours per week. Flexible availability is required, including evenings and weekends as needed. Additional hours may be available based on business needs.

Physical and Environmental Conditions

• Talking and hearing, standing and walking, using hands to grasp, and reaching with arms/hands, are required.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally, and up to 10 pounds frequently, to move objects.
• No exposure to adverse environmental conditions; work is performed in a typical office/retail store environment.
