Job Description: Responsible Sourcing & Livelihoods Manager

We are seeking a Responsible Sourcing & Livelihoods Manager to join Kraft Heinz’s Global Sustainability team. Mission: drive execution of our responsible sourcing strategy and deliver our livelihoods programme in partnership with Zone teams. Scope: focus on the upstream value chain and communities, with particular emphasis on human rights, deforestation, and animal welfare , as well as the implementation of the Livelihoods programme within communities. Accountable outcomes: measurable progress in responsible sourcing performance, improved livelihoods in priority communities, and demonstrable advancement against our human rights, deforestation, and animal welfare commitments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implementation of human rights, deforestation free and animal welfare sourcing strategy aligned with global regulations e.g. CSDDD, EUDR, Modern Slavery Acts and voluntary frameworks.
  • Partner with Zone sustainability teams to support the delivery of critical risk mitigation actions and human rights salient risk action plans.
  • Develop internal and external reporting processes to track progress against KPI performance and towards deforestation free commitments.
  • Ability to understand and navigate the complex legislative and regulatory landscape to enable informed business decisions to delivery social and environmental impact throughout the value chain.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including NGOs, suppliers, and industry associations, to stay informed about emerging issues and best practices.
  • Provide training and capacity-building programs for suppliers and internal stakeholders on responsible sourcing practices.
  • You will coordinate with and enable relevant teams in the delivery of Kraft Heinz’s Responsible Sourcing & Livelihoods commitments, adapting the program to fit evolving priorities within the Kraft Heinz Global Sustainability Strategy where relevant. In addition, you will support the broader Global Procurement Sustainability Program activities by contributing to continuous improvement in positive procurement, value creation, internal and external engagement, innovation, supplier collaboration, third party partnerships, and internal collaboration.
Define and evolve Kraft Heinz’s Livelihoods strategy, including a focus on impact measurement, alignment with the regenerative agriculture strategy and focus on Living Wage/Income for the upstream value chain
Partner cross-functionally with Procurement, Supply Chain, Legal, Communications, and Corporate Affairs to embed human rights and livelihoods into business decision-making
  • Collaborate with suppliers to implement traceability systems ensuring visibility of sourcing origins for high-risk commodities.

7+ years of experience in relevant program management roles, innovation and co-creation roles involving cross-functional senior stakeholder management, or strategy/sustainability/innovation consulting roles. Must have a good professional understanding of the following:

  • Ability to provide robust and practical solutions for due diligence, risk prevention and remediation and to translate complex concepts into actionable plans.
  • Sustainability professional who excels in program management, senior stakeholder management, with outstanding problem-solving skills.
  • Strong collaboration with procurement teams to integrate responsible sourcing principles into our purchasing decisions and contracts.
  • Strong knowledge of FMCG and procurement corporate sustainability, agricultural supply chains, and understanding of related processes, tools and competences.
  • Familiarity with ESG reporting to capital markets and 3rd parties, NGO landscape, global legislative landscape, competition landscape, industry trends, and consumer/industry trends in Responsible Sourcing.
  • Ability to effectively develop initiatives which contribute to delivering against the company and procurement strategy.
  • Organizational Agility - knows how to get things done both through formal and informal channels.
  • Effective at establishing trust and building effective business relationships and getting things done through others.
  • Can effectively articulate various perspectives and impacts of issues and project them into the future.
