Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a driven Laboratory Test Engineer in the Netherlands (Utrecht/Houten area) with hands-on mechanical testing experience. You will perform friction, wear and leakage tests, document results, and contribute to developing new test components while maintaining safety and quality standards.

You will collaborate with engineers on R&D sealing projects, own lab equipment, and help improve testing methods. Proactive, independent work and strong English communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Two to five years of hands-on experience in mechanical testing and experimental verification.
• Experience with rotating equipment such as bearings or seals.
• Proficiency in CAD software (PTC Creo is a plus).
• Good knowledge of Microsoft 365.
• Very good spoken and written English.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Submit application and CV in English.

Responsibilities

• Prepare seal samples and perform preliminary analyses before testing.
• Conduct established tests evaluating friction, wear, contamination ingress, leakage and service life.
• Analyse, document and present test results.
• Contribute to the design and development of new test components, systems and methods.
• Take ownership of designated laboratory equipment and ensure compliance with health and safety requirements.
• Perform routine maintenance and calibrate laboratory equipment.
• Maintain stock levels of laboratory supplies.
• Improve laboratory equipment, methods and working practices.
• Collaborate with research engineers and laboratory specialists on R&D projects for sealing systems.
