McKinsey & Company, Inc. is seeking a candidate in Amsterdam to join its Battery Accelerator Team. The role involves analyzing energy storage trends and collaborating with stakeholders in the energy sector while developing strategic recommendations based on data analysis.
Candidates should possess a Master's degree in a STEM field, have a solid foundation in energy storage, and proficiency in essential tools like Excel and PowerPoint. The position emphasizes continuous learning and offers a global community environment.
Driving lasting impact and building long-term capabilities with our clients is not easy work. You are the kind of person who thrives in a high performance/high reward culture - doing hard things, picking yourself up when you stumble, and having the resilience to try another way forward.
In return for your drive, determination, and curiosity, we'll provide the resources, mentorship, and opportunities you need to become a stronger leader faster than you ever thought possible. Your colleagues—at all levels—will invest deeply in your development, just as much as they invest in delivering exceptional results for clients. Every day, you'll receive apprenticeship, coaching, and exposure that will accelerate your growth in ways you won’t find anywhere else.
When you join us, you will have:
You’ll analyze trends and opportunities across the energy storage landscape—including battery energy storage systems (BESS), long‑duration energy storage (LDES), and grid‑scale applications. You’ll build the tools and proprietary market models and decision tools, and collaborate with developers, utilities, investors, and regulators to deliver strategic insights.
You’ll bring a deep understanding of the energy storage ecosystem—from cell manufacturing to project deployment—and a passion for translating data into strategic recommendations. You should be comfortable using AI tools and basic coding to enhance workflows and modeling.
You will be part of the firm’s think tank for innovation and decision support across the energy storage value chain. We help business leaders and policymakers solve critical challenges to accelerate the global clean energy transition.
Working closely with our global network of energy experts, you’ll help shape client strategies with data‑backed perspectives on technologies, market outlooks, value pools, and optimization opportunities across geographies.
You’ll join one of our hubs—Munich, Amsterdam—as part of the broader Battery Accelerator Team, with 250+ members.
