Job summary

Netherlands Cancer Institute, the research institute of Antoni van Leeuwenhoek-Ziekenhuis, is seeking a Technical Administrator to manage and advance our research data infrastructure and iRODS-based systems. You will collaborate with researchers and the central IT team to ensure secure, efficient data handling in a dynamic ICT landscape.

You will work with Linux and programming/scripting languages (Python, C++, C#, JavaScript, Bash), contribute to strategic IT decisions, resolve user tickets,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s (hbo) level in ICT preferred.
• Experience with Linux and programming/scripting languages such as Python, C++, C#, JavaScript and Bash.
• Knowledge of PostgreSQL and Azure/cloud storage is a plus.
• Familiarity with research data management, especially with iRODS.
• Strong client- and results-oriented approach with quality focus.
• Analytical and able to stay calm under pressure.
• Able to work independently or in a team.
• Clear communication with IT and researchers; English required; Dutch a plus.

Responsibilities

• Implement and optimize iRODS-based data infrastructure for secure, fast access across storage tiers.
• Help shape strategic IT decisions for scientific research.
• Resolve tickets and support users of the data infrastructure.
• Contribute to ICT projects and develop new solutions.
• Collaborate with internal colleagues and external suppliers on ICT quality and efficiency.
