Vastgoed Nederland is seeking an ambitious Renewable Energy Investment Manager to drive the energy transition across a European real estate portfolio. You will develop, evaluate, and optimize renewable energy investments, including solar PV, battery storage, and e-mobility solutions, while leading financial analyses and investment cases.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Renewable Energy, Finance, Real Estate or Economics.
• 5+ years in renewable energy, infrastructure, real estate, project development or investment management.
• Experience with solar PV, battery storage, EV charging or distributed energy systems.
• Strong financial modelling and investment analysis skills.
• Fluent in English; additional languages a plus.

Job description

We are looking for an ambitious and commercially minded Renewable Energy Investment Manager to drive the energy transition across our European real estate portfolio. In this role, you will lead the development, evaluation, execution, and optimization of renewable energy investments, including solar PV, battery energy storage systems (BESS), EV charging infrastructure, and other innovative energy solutions.

You will combine technical, financial, and commercial expertise to identify value-creating opportunities that improve asset performance, reduce carbon emissions, and deliver attractive investment returns. Working closely with Asset Management, Development, Finance, Sustainability, and external partners, you will play a key role in achieving our long-term ESG and investment objectives.

• Develop and implement renewable energy strategies across the European real estate portfolio.
• Identify opportunities for on-site renewable generation, energy storage, smart energy management, and e-mobility solutions.
• Monitor market developments, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies to identify new business opportunities.
• Lead technical and financial feasibility studies for renewable energy investments.
• Develop robust financial models, investment cases, and business plans.
• Prepare investment recommendations and present opportunities to senior management and investment committees.
• Support acquisitions by evaluating renewable energy potential during due diligence.

Project Development

• Manage the development and implementation of renewable energy projects from concept through commissioning.
• Coordinate internal stakeholders, consultants, contractors, utilities, and technology providers.
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with technical and commercial objectives.

Asset Performance & Operations

• Monitor operational performance of renewable energy assets.
• Manage Operations & Maintenance (O&M) providers and optimize asset performance to maximize energy production and financial returns.
• Analyse operational data and implement continuous performance improvements
• Monitor budgets, forecasts, cash flows, and financial performance of renewable energy assets.
• Track investment performance against business cases and financial targets.
• Identify opportunities to optimize returns across the portfolio.

Risk, Compliance & Reporting

• Identify and mitigate technical, operational, regulatory, environmental, and financial risks.
• Ensure compliance with applicable legislation, permitting requirements, and industry standards.
• Prepare regular performance reports for management, investors, and other stakeholders.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Renewable Energy, Finance, Real Estate, Economics, or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in renewable energy, infrastructure, real estate, project development, or investment management.
• Experience with solar PV, battery storage, EV charging infrastructure, or distributed energy systems.
• Strong financial modelling and investment analysis skills.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary projects and external stakeholders.
• Knowledge of European renewable energy markets and regulatory frameworks is an advantage.
• Excellent analytical, commercial, and problem-solving abilities.
• Fluent in English; additional European languages are considered a plus.
