Job summary

The Walt Disney Company is seeking Transmission Engineers for a remote role supporting overnight US hours, joining the Live Orchestration team within Disney Entertainment & ESPN Technology. You will oversee live and VOD streaming workflows and ensure content integrity.

Responsibilities include managing EPG data, monitoring system health, developing troubleshooting protocols, and escalating issues with incident tickets. The role demands attention to detail, independent work, and flexibility.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a relevant technical, operational or digital media environment.
• Working knowledge of live/on-demand streaming products.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Able to operate independently with moderate guidance.
• Able to learn quickly and adapt to new situations.
• Must have a strong ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.
• Must be available to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Possess intermediate workflow knowledge and operational experience
• Manage EPG data for live channels, including extending listings data and updating catalog attributes as needed on streaming platforms including Disney+, ESPN, and Hulu + Live TV, ensuring the availability and quality of media, schedule, and rights data
• Ensure content blackouts compliance against contractual obligations and partner communications, via audits and/or manual implementation - update, verify, validate, and send blackout notifications to technical and programming contacts
• Monitor and confirm basic health and functionality of front-end facing features via proprietary software for media orchestration
• Partner with Senior Operators, Leads, and Supervisors to develop and document troubleshooting protocols for workflow issues
• Escalate issues to appropriate support resources, and file incident tickets as needed to track metrics related to outages
