Radboud University invites applications for a PhD position in Mathematical Physics jointly hosted by the Department of Mathematics and the Radboud Center for Natural Philosophy (RCNP). You will research gravitational and holographic systems out of equilibrium as part of the Origins of Irreversibility project.

The appointment includes teaching duties in mathematics and mathematical physics (~0.2 FTE for the first three years) and offers a starting salary of €3,204 gross per month, with

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in mathematics with strong background in physics or in theoretical physics with a strong mathematical background.
  • Interest in philosophy of science and representation may be beneficial.
  • Excellent written and oral English communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Teach mathematics and mathematical physics as a teaching assistant (~0.2 FTE for the first three years).
  • Participate in RCNP seminars, reading groups and related activities.
  • Collaborate with Origins of Irreversibility project researchers and present at conferences/workshops.
