Job summary

Jobgether is seeking a Remote Lead Android Engineer based in the Netherlands. You will own Android architecture and delivery, collaborating with backend and product teams to build scalable, secure mobile experiences.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in Android, strong Kotlin skills, and experience with RESTful APIs, MVVM/clean architecture, and CI/CD in a distributed cloud environment. This remote role offers autonomy and responsibility within the European time zone.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional Android engineering experience with a track record of delivering production-grade apps.
• Strong Kotlin expertise and deep knowledge of Android SDK and modern architecture patterns.
• Experience integrating RESTful APIs and building asynchronous apps with Kotlin Coroutines/Flow.
• Proficiency with Agile/Scrum practices and CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of mobile security best practices and secure data handling.
• Fluent English and ability to work remotely within Europe.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance Android applications using Kotlin.
• Define scalable mobile architectures prioritizing performance and long-term quality.
• Build intuitive UIs aligned with Android design principles and Jetpack Compose where applicable.
• Integrate mobile apps with RESTful backends and distributed services.
• Ensure performance, memory efficiency, offline capabilities, and robust testing.
• Own the mobile delivery lifecycle from development to Google Play deployment and CI/CD.
• Mentor engineers, conduct code reviews, and uplift engineering standards.
• Collaborate with backend, infra, and product teams on distributed systems.
• Apply security best practices, encryption, and secure storage.
