Job summary

AfterQuery is seeking an experienced Excel and data modeling expert for remote, project-based work. You will build complex spreadsheet models, forecast tools, and dashboards, using Power Query and VBA, while ensuring clean data and reproducible methodologies.

Qualifications

• Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel including advanced formulas, Power Query, pivot tables, and VBA.
• Proven track record of delivering complex spreadsheet models or data tools in a professional setting.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently on technical and analytical tasks.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, Data Science, Business, Mathematics, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain complex Excel models including financial models, forecasting tools, scenario analyses, and operational dashboards
• Design and implement advanced formulas, pivot tables, Power Query workflows, and VBA/macro automation
• Clean, transform, and structure large datasets for analysis and reporting
• Develop clear, visually polished Excel dashboards and reports for business stakeholders
• Document spreadsheet logic, assumptions, and methodologies clearly and reproducibly
