Job summary

Hiflylabs, a Budapest-based company with a growing team, seeks a Senior Databricks Solutions Architect to lead architecture for Benelux and Nordics-based customers. This contractor role is remote with timezone overlap required for client work; you will guide big data projects from design to deployment and help shape the Databricks platform roadmap.

You will mentor teams, deliver technical sessions, and collaborate with Fortune 500 clients, leveraging your Spark, Databricks, and cloud experience

Qualifications

• Hands-on and technical expertise with Apache Spark.
• Hands-on experience with Databricks on large-scale projects.
• Databricks Certified Data Engineer Professional certification.
• Experience designing and implementing big data technologies (Hadoop, NoSQL, MPP, OLTP, OLAP).
• 5+ years as Software/Data Engineer with Spark-focused work.
• Proficiency in Python, Scala, or Java.
• Experience with AWS, Azure or GCP cloud platforms.
• Familiarity with CI/CD, testing, automation, REST API, BI tools, SQL interfaces (e.g., Jenkins).
• Excellent communication for leadership engagement.
• Customer-facing experience (pre/post-sales, architectural guidance).
• Interest in learning new technologies and customer success.
• Experience in Data Science/ML Engineering (model lifecycle, MLFlow) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide post-sales technical leadership to strategic customers.
• Identify initiatives turning data into business value aligned with goals.
• Architect production workloads and optimize end-to-end pipelines.
• Deliver tutorials and trainings to promote community adoption.
