B Lab is seeking a Data Governance Lead to own data standards, definitions, and sensitivity classifications across our data platform. You will help build data literacy and ensure compliance with laws and internal policy.

You will collaborate with the Senior Analytics Engineer and Data Engineer to keep models and pipelines aligned with standards. This is a full-time remote-first role based in the Netherlands, with residency and commuting requirements to Amsterdam, and work authorization for the

Qualifications

• Overall 3+ years of experience in data modeling and/or data governance roles.
• SQL knowledge and data model experience to audit governance.
• Experience establishing data standards, definitions, and sensitivity/classification frameworks.
• Ability to communicate complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders and drive adoption of standards.
• Familiarity with data-related legal and regulatory requirements relevant to data platforms and analytics.

Responsibilities

• Own Data Standards & Definitions: establish and maintain data standards, definitions, and sensitivity classifications.
• Ensure Compliance: keep data platform and analytics practices compliant with laws and internal policy.
• Drive Data Standards Adoption: ensure standards are used across pillars, not just documented.
• Build Data Literacy: develop training, documentation, and enablement for teams to trust data.
• Partner with Platform Peers: work with Senior Analytics Engineer and Data Engineer to align models and pipelines to standards.
• Support Pillar 2 & 3: help apply data standards across networks and enablement teams.
