Job summary

BSI is seeking a GQA AI Regulatory & Certification Lead for Europe/UK/US, homebased with travel. This one-year fixed term contract leads regulatory and accreditation activities for AI certifications globally, aligning with EU AI Regulations and standards.

The role requires a strong AI/QA background, with 4+ years in conformity assessment or regulatory areas, and the ability to work across regions. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience.

Qualifications

• BSc degree or higher in AI, Engineering, IT, QA or equivalent.
• At least four years' post-graduate experience in conformity assessment, quality management, software development, quality policy/regulation, standardization development, with at least 1 year in AI.
• Experience in AI Lifecycle and Regulatory aspects of AI products.
• Good interpersonal and influencing skills.

Responsibilities

• Managing AI notified body, AI certification body schemes globally within ISO17021/ISO17065/ISO17025 and other applicable accreditation and legislation requirements (e.g., EU AI Act, Medical Devices Regulation).
• Leading the development and maintenance of Conformity Assessment Activity to allow providers and manufacturers to demonstrate that their technology and processes conform to the provisions of EU AI Regulations, applicable standards, and global regulatory requirements.
• Ensuring that BSI has the relevant policies, procedures and documentation in place to meet all latest AI regulatory obligations
• Ensuring that NB, AI Services and AIMS personnel work is consistently at the required high level of expertise and rigour
• Providing policy, input and expertise on AI technical and AI management systems assessment and developing related certification schemes.
• Representing BSI in relevant AI events, forums, stakeholder engagement and working groups on AI.
