Job summary

The European Investment Bank in Luxembourg seeks to recruit an Associate Sector Specialist - Railway Infrastructure to join the Rail Infrastructure Division in the Mobility Department. You will contribute to appraisal of railway investment projects and monitor the Bank's rail portfolio.

The role requires a university degree in civil/transport engineering or related field, at least 3 years of relevant experience, strong analytical skills, and fluency in English and/or French.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in civil/transport engineering or related field.
• At least 3 years of relevant professional experience in transport infrastructure projects.
• Excellent knowledge of English and/or French, with good command of the other languages.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to assessing the technical, environmental, social, economic and financial viability of railway investment projects and programmes.
• Contribute to the physical monitoring of projects financed by the EIB, in cooperation with other Bank services.
• Progressively take a more active role in project due diligence, including techno-economic assessments and interactions with project promoters.
• Support the maintenance and development of the Division's unit cost database.
• Contribute to sector, policy and methodology papers supporting lending policies and wider policy work.
• Represent the EIB at sector events and exchanges with stakeholders.
