Job summary

Supermicro seeks a Quality Systems Manager to lead the Integrated Management System, encompassing Quality, Environmental, and Information Security programs in global scope. You will design, deploy, and maintain IMS/EMS/ISM processes in alignment with ISO 9001, 13485, 14001 and 27001 standards.

You will drive internal audits, supplier and regulatory audits, develop QPs/WIPs/SOPs, monitor KPIs, and coach teams to sustain certification readiness.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field; Master's preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years with Bachelor's or 5 years with Master's in Quality/Environmental/IMS in manufacturing/high-tech.
  • Experience auditing QMS/EMS/ISMS in semiconductor, electronics, pharma, medical devices or related industries.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 13485, ISO 14001, ISO 27001, AS9100, IATF 16949.
  • Certified Internal Auditor preferred.
  • Able to influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams and management.
  • Excellent verbal/written/presentation skills; strong organizational and analytical abilities.
  • Proficient in MS Office; data analysis and reporting experience.
  • Knowledge of FMEA, Fault Tree, KPIs and risk management.
  • Able to work independently; travel 10–20% domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

  • Lead IMS, including Quality, Environmental and other relevant systems.
  • Plan, conduct, report internal audits and verify corrective actions.
  • Coordinate audits and ensure audit readiness with customers and regulators.
  • Develop and maintain QPs, WIPs, SOPs and IMS documents.
  • Monitor IMS KPIs and drive corrective/preventive actions.
  • Lead continual improvement to enhance process effectiveness and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
  • Provide IMS training and guidance to staff and process owners.
  • Act as SME for IMS standards and compliance; keep up with best practices.
  • Prepare management reports and support senior leadership reviews.

Job Summary:

This position works directly with multiple teams to support the development and implementation of a proactive Quality Management System, Environmental Management System (EMS), and Information Security Management (ISM) in compliance with ISO 9001 / 13485 / 14001 / 27001 globally. This includes the creation, training, deployment, auditing, and maintenance of the global Supermicro Quality and Environmental Managements Systems.

The Quality Systems Manager will provide leadership in the implementation, maintenance, and improvement of company-wide Quality Management System, Environmental Management System (EMS), and Information Security Management (ISM), procedures and support processes. Proactively monitors the various elements of the QMS, EMS and ISM to help ensure compliance with quality and environmental system regulations and applicable national and international standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Implement, maintain, and continually improve the company's Integrated Management System (IMS), including Quality, Environmental, and other applicable management systems.
  • Plan, conduct, report, and follow up on internal audits, including verification of corrective actions and ensuring timely closure of audit findings.
  • Coordinate and support customer, certification, regulatory, and third-party audits, ensuring organizational audit readiness.
  • Develop, review, approve, and maintain Quality Procedures (QPs), Work Instruction Procedures (WIPs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), forms, and other controlled IMS documents.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report IMS and departmental Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and drive corrective and preventive actions to improve performance.
  • Lead continual improvement initiatives to enhance process effectiveness, compliance, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable ISO standards, regulatory requirements, customer requirements, and internal policies.
  • Identify, assess, communicate, and escalate quality, environmental, regulatory, and compliance risks to management, and support effective risk mitigation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional departments to resolve quality system issues, implement corrective actions, and improve business processes.
  • Provide training, coaching, and guidance on IMS requirements, quality standards, audit practices, and best practices to employees and process owners.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for IMS-related processes, standards, and compliance requirements, providing technical guidance across the organization.
  • Maintain current knowledge of applicable ISO standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices, and recommend improvements as needed.
  • Prepare management reports, analyze quality system performance, and present audit results, trends, and recommendations to leadership.
  • Support management reviews, certification activities, and strategic quality initiatives to ensure continued effectiveness of the IMS.
  • Lead or participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Environmental Science, or a related field required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree, or 5 years with a Master's degree, in Quality, Environmental, or other Management Systems within a manufacturing and/or high-tech environment.
  • Experience developing, implementing, and leading Quality and Environmental Management System audits in the semiconductor, electronics manufacturing, pharmaceutical, medical device, or related industries.
  • Strong working knowledge of international management system standards, including ISO 9001, ISO 13485, ISO 14001, ISO 27001, AS9100, and IATF 16949 (formerly ISO/TS 16949).
  • Certified Internal Auditor certification for one or more ISO standards is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, customers, suppliers, and all levels of management.
  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook, with experience in data analysis and reporting.
  • Knowledge of risk management methodologies (e.g., FMEA, Fault Tree Analysis) and performance measurement using Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced office environment requiring prolonged use of a computer, keyboard, monitor, telephone, and other standard office equipment.
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 10–20% as business needs require.
