Adient, the global leader in automotive seating, is seeking a Quality Engineer to support quality excellence, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement initiatives within our manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive improvements in quality metrics (RTY, PPM, Warranty, Craftsmanship)
- Prepare and submit PPAP packages
- Lead customer and supplier quality issue resolution using 8D and root cause analysis
- Develop and maintain Control Plans, Inspection Plans, and PFMEAs
- Perform Gage R&R, MSA, SPC, and capability studies
- Support product launches and customer-specific quality requirements
- Serve as the primary customer contact for quality-related concerns
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering required (candidates may still be pursuing their degree) or equivalent experience. Specific education and training in Quality disciplines are required, including, at a minimum: ISO/TS 16949, Continuous Improvement, Total Quality Management, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, DOE, and SPC.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, drawings/blueprints (including GD&T), and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Strong knowledge of SPC techniques and applications, including DOE and MSA.
- Must be computer literate and familiar with appropriate software programs. Ability to create visual aids for communication purposes.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to determine root causes.
- Three (3) years of supervisory experience in manufacturing processes preferred.
Experience
- Manufacturing experience is required, with automotive seating mechanisms experience strongly preferred.
- Experience with Welding (GMAW and Laser) and Assembly processes.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a Quality Technician and/or Quality Engineer role, preferably in a high-volume manufacturing environment; three (3) years of automotive Tier 1, Tier 2, or Tier 3 supplier experience preferred.
