Job summary

Johnson & Johnson Leiden is seeking an interim Supervisor for the QC Microbiology team at the JSC Laboratories. You will lead a group of 8-12 analysts, oversee day-to-day testing and ensure compliance with cGMP and safety regulations, while coordinating resources and training.

You will drive quality metrics, organize activities in SmartQC, support investigations, and act as backup for the department manager, contributing to safe, compliant production of microbiology products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Microbiology required.
• 6-8 years in QC with 3+ years in a leadership role.
• Knowledge of microbiology assays (Bioburden, Endotoxin, Sterility) and Environmental Monitoring.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills; excellent communication.
• Awareness of GMP practices and safety.
• English proficiency; Dutch a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of 8-12 analysts with development through structured conversations.
• Define and oversee testing activities, ensuring cGMP compliance and proper resources.
• Plan, organize, and supervise daily tasks within the team and ensure smooth transfer via SmartQC.
• Ensure assays meet quality and quantity standards; set priorities and resolve conflicts.
• Coordinate investigations to achieve swift GMP-compliant resolutions.
• Monitor KPIs such as 5S, invalid assay rates, training status, and lead times.
• Promote continuous improvement using Business Excellence and Faster Forward tools.
• Act as backup for the department manager.
