Johnson & Johnson Leiden is recruiting an (Associate) Scientist Microbiology for the Quality Control team. The role focuses on microbiological testing for Drug Substance and Drug Product, with emphasis on method development, validation, and tech transfer.

The position supports continuous improvement and requires strong problem-solving skills. The role reports to the QC Microbiological testing team manager and is based in Leiden, NL, within the Leiden QC department of Johnson & Johnson.

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent in Biochemistry, Microbiology or related field is required.
• Experience: minimum 6 years in pharmaceutical QC with microbiology.
• Regulatory GMP knowledge (FDA/EU).
• Strong ability to work independently and in teams.

Responsibilities

• Support microbiological testing aspects for Drug Substance and Drug Product manufacturing.
• Troubleshoot microbiological methods and drive improvements.
• Prepare protocols and reports for continuous improvement projects.
• Plan resources and equipment for ongoing activities.
