Job summary

Fairphone in Amsterdam is seeking a QA Automation Engineer to elevate the quality culture across our web development teams. You will shift quality left, automate pre-deploy gates, and guide manual test planning for major launches, reporting to the Lead Developer.

You will establish end-to-end automation with Playwright (Python), integrate tests into GitHub Actions, and collaborate with Product Owners and UX Designers to define acceptance criteria and non-functional requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years in Software Quality Assurance for web apps.
• Hands-on automation framework setup with Playwright (Python) or Cypress.
• Experience configuring CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions.
• Experience with Agile Scrum and edge-case thinking.
• Fluent English communication.

Responsibilities

• Plan, build, and maintain end-to-end test automation suites with Playwright (Python).
• Integrate automated tests into GitHub Actions and weekly bug-detection scripts.
• Define rigorous acceptance criteria with Product Owners and UX Designers.
• Own go/no-go release decisions and enforce quality guardrails.
• Balance automated testing with structured manual test planning for releases.
