Job summary

Plantrs in Amsterdam is seeking a QA Engineer to design, develop and execute automated tests ensuring product quality. You will identify and track bugs across their lifecycle, perform regression testing, and help shape testing processes to meet client needs.

You will liaise with developers and product managers to define system requirements, stay current with testing tools, and drive continuous QA improvements within an Agile/Scrum environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven work experience as a QA Engineer or in a similar role.
• Extensive experience in software development and software quality assurance.
• Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
• Experience in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases.
• Hands‑on experience with both white box and black box testing.
• Experience with automated testing tools.
• Solid knowledge of SQL and scripting.
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process.
• Familiarity with performance and/or security testing is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and execute automated tests to ensure product quality.
• Identify, record, document thoroughly, and track bugs through their lifecycle.
• Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved.
• Develop and apply testing processes for new and existing products to meet client needs.
• Liaise with internal teams to identify system requirements.
• Monitor debugging process results and investigate the causes of non-conforming software.
• Stay up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies.
• Coordinate with software developers to enhance the underlying architecture that supports automated testing of new system features.
• Oversee continuous improvement projects to drive efficiency in the QA process.
• Contribute to the establishment of a culture of high quality and efficiency in the software development lifecycle.
