Job summary

Zypp in Rotterdam is seeking a Python developer to design, implement, test and deploy our backend apps, APIs and microservices, and to help automate processes across client solutions.

You’ll work with Flask/FastAPI, React frontend, CI/CD via GitHub Actions to Azure, and TerraForm for IaC. A passion for data infrastructure, OOP and clean, tested code is essential.

Job description

Development with Python is an integral part of our solutions. Typically, it is used for developing the backend of our apps, building APIs and microservices, the infrastructure that accesses data from systems to store centrally, or to automate processes at the organizations we support.

As a Python developer, you are involved in designing, implementing, testing, and deploying our solutions. Additionally, you are familiar with CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code principles.

Developing web apps: within Zypp and Zypper , we build modern cloud-native web apps. The backend consists of Flask and/or FastAPI, and the frontend consists of React or a CSS framework like Tailwind. Furthermore, CI/CD happens via GitHub actions to Azure.

Building APIs and Microservices: parts of our apps and solutions consist of microservices, mainly when the service needs to serve multiple parts of our infrastructure. These microservices are mainly written in FastAPI and deployed on Azure Functions.

Building data integrations between systems or from systems to a central storage location, such as data lakes or data warehouses.

Helping clients with specific projects where our expertise is called upon. These are usually custom-made solutions. Such as automating processes through RPA.

Who you are

You have a passion for setting up data infrastructure to help organizations use their data as simply as possible.

You are eager to learn and open to mastering new subjects.

You have relevant experience in the above-mentioned topics, or experience in similar domains and are willing to learn the mentioned topics.

You have a good understanding of Python, developing structured projects, writing professional code, OOP, and testing code.

You know your way around software versioning (git), Docker, and CI/CD. Experience with TerraForm is a plus.

You already have experience with AI (LLMs) or are interested in gaining this knowledge!
