Job summary

The Member Company is seeking a cable and pipeline supervisor to manage excavation notifications, ensure drawings, permits, and traffic plans are complete, and prevent conflicts with city activities.

You will oversee contractors working in the public space, enforce permit requirements, and safeguard residents and visitors. You will coordinate inspections and contribute to permit decisions, with occasional emergency service duties.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising contractors in public spaces and coordinating with permit authorities.
• Knowledge of municipal permits, cables and pipelines handbook, and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Process excavation notifications in digital systems, verify completeness of drawings, permits, and traffic plans.
• Check for date/time conflicts with other public space activities.
• Contact notifier to approve or reject notifications when resolved.
• Perform daily supervision of contractors and enforce permit requirements on-site.
• Coordinate with permit issuer and flow manager; arrange site inspections as needed.
• Participate in emergency services for several weeks a year.
