Job summary

GEHECO is seeking a pragmatic mechanical engineer to design, prototype, test and iterate in a small startup team in the Greater Rotterdam Area. You will work hands-on in a well-equipped workshop, creating prototypes, testing in lab and field, and collaborating to push the GEHECO product forward.

Ideal candidates will have a Master’s in Mechanical Engineering, several years in green tech or prototyping, and a passion for making things work.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Several years of work experience in green tech, engineering, prototyping or research.
• Passion for making things work and building working prototypes.
• Pragmatism; ability to build prototypes with 3D printer and in the workshop.
• Knowledge of 3D CAD software.

Responsibilities

• Create design solutions during product development.
• Detail design of prototypes.
• Build prototypes in the workshop and test in lab/field.
• Test & Learn: optimize learning effects during prototype testing.
• Collaborate in a small team to improve the product.
• Be flexible and take on tasks as needed.
• Engage in problem-solving exercises and learn-by-doing.
