Job summary

TNO in Leiden, Netherlands, is seeking a Research Technician in Protein Sciences to support pharmacokinetic studies of biologics and biosimilars. You will run hands-on experiments, manage mammalian cell culture, and develop assays while documenting results for project teams.

You will collaborate with internal researchers and external collaborators, translate insights into actionable data, and help implement new technologies in drug development within an advanced analytics group.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor/Master degree in Biochemistry, Life Sciences, Biomedical Sciences or related discipline.
  • At least three years of relevant experience in a research and development environment.
  • Experience with mammalian cell culture and protein expression.
  • Proven experience with protein purification and chromatography techniques.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Radiation Protection Certificate 5B preferred or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and perform experiments supporting pharmacokinetic studies of biologics and biosimilars.
  • Establish and maintain mammalian cell culture systems.
  • Isolate, purify, and characterize proteins using chromatography-based techniques.
  • Develop and run biochemical assays including enzymatic, binding, and activity-based assays.
  • Prepare research protocols and document experimental activities.
  • Analyze and report data to project teams and collaborators.
  • Coordinate experimental activities across multiple projects.
