Job summary

SBM Offshore seeks a senior quality professional to lead QA efforts across project lifecycles in Rotterdam. You will establish QA plans, conduct audits, and ensure adherence to client and regulator requirements while driving a culture of quality excellence.

The role requires ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification, extensive oil & gas project experience, and deep knowledge of welding, coating, NDT, preservation, andEx environments.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in Oil & Gas with strong project management understanding
• Fundamentals, engineering principles and lifecycle and assurance processes
• Proven experience with ISO 9000, ISO/TS 29001 and ISO/IEC 80079-34
• Proficient in quality investigation tools including RCA, FMEA, CAPA
• Strong knowledge in welding, coating, NDT, preservation and Ex

Responsibilities

• Provide primary support to Project Quality Manager in executing quality management within the project
• Act as key contact for clients on quality matters
• Support execution of project quality plan and audit programs
• Establish and maintain the Project Quality Audit Plan and close corrective actions
• Review quality documents submitted by Vendors
• Conduct quality induction sessions for stakeholders including Vendors and Subcontractors
• Monitor resolution of quality notifications and escalations
• Analyze project quality performance and report status to stakeholders
• Contribute to vendor/sub-contractor qualification based on quality
• Provide feedback and lessons learned to improve systems and tools

Job description

• You are responsible for implementing quality assurance measures within your project to ensure compliance with all standards, rules, and requirements established by the Company, Regulators, Clients, and other relevant stakeholders.
• Within the project organization, you provide essential support for quality management within the project.
• You assist the Project Quality Manager in liaising with the Project Team, Clients, contractors, and vendors on following up quality related matters.
• Your role is instrumental in promoting and fostering strong quality cultures, positive behaviors, and a culture of quality excellence among project stakeholders.
• You assist in leading quality-related activities to provide effective support to the project, ensuring that quality standards are upheld throughout the project lifecycle.
• Outside the project organisation you are accountable for supporting departmental key activities, including participation in company-wide improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Provide primary support to Project Quality Manager in the execution of quality management withinproject.
• Act as the key contact for clients on quality matters in the absence of the Project Quality Manager,ensuring effective communication and alignment with project objectives.
• Support the execution of project quality plan.
• Establish, update, and maintain the Project Quality Audit Plan, conduct internal and external auditsand follow up to ensure timely closure of corrective actions.
• Timely review quality-related documents submitted by Vendors.
• Conduct quality induction and awareness sessions on project quality requirements for allstakeholders, including Vendors and Subcontractors.
• Monitor & follow up on the resolution of quality notifications and escalations, ensuring adherence toprocesses.
• Analyze project quality performance, provide status updates on quality activities, and ensure timelyreporting meeting department and project deadlines
• Actively engaged with internal stakeholders for quality related matters.
• Contribute to the qualification and selection of vendors/sub-contractors based on quality.
• Provide feedback and lessons learned to improve systems and tools within the discipline community.
• Participate in quality incident investigations and assist in resolving incidents promptly.

Education

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering, science, or a related quality discipline, with a focus on quality management or relevant field.
• Certified ISO 9001 Lead Auditor or equivalent standard, demonstrating proficiency in auditing quality management systems.

Experience

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in the Oil and Gas industry, including at least 2 years in a senior level role. Proven project experience, demonstrating a strong understanding of Project Management.
• Fundamentals, Engineering principles, lifecycle and assurance processes, and constructionprocesses, including fabrication and special processes.
• Proven expertise in Quality Management Systems such as ISO 9000, ISO/TS 29001, and ISO/IEC80079-34, with in-depth knowledge of relevant processes and interfaces. Demonstrates acomprehensive understanding of quality management principles, methodologies, and best practices,including quality assurance techniques.
• Demonstrated proficiency with quality investigation tools and methodologies, including handlinginvestigations of non-conformance and major quality incidents. Well-versed in root cause analysis,failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA), and corrective action/preventive action (CAPA).
• Strong knowledge in welding, coating, Non-Destructive Testing (NDT), preservation, and Ex(explosive atmospheres). Relevant certifications are an added advantage.
