Job summary

Wavin, part of Orbia Building & Infrastructure, is seeking a technically capable Project Manager for the Technology & Innovation Office to lead innovation projects from concept to market launch, coordinating R&D, operations, and other stakeholders. The role offers a flexible hybrid arrangement with three days in Dedemsvaart and two days remote, and travel up to 20%.

You will ensure projects progress on plan, budget, and milestones, while mitigating risks and delivering validated, manufacturable

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Plastics, Mechanical, Industrial Design, Electronics, or similar).
  • Proven Project Manager with experience in product development, manufacturing, industrial, or other technical environments.
  • Experience with new product development and industrial manufacturing processes; plastics processing knowledge is an advantage.
  • Fluent in English and Dutch, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

  • Lead innovation projects through Wavin's Stage-Gate development process, ensuring projects are delivered according to scope, timing, budget, and quality requirements.
  • Maintain project governance, reporting, budgets, resource planning, and milestone tracking across multiple projects.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams including R&D, Operations, Quality, Procurement, Marketing, and regional stakeholders.
  • Act as a technical contributor within projects, providing engineering input, evaluating technical decisions, and helping teams resolve complex challenges.
  • Identify risks early and drive mitigation plans to keep projects on track.
  • Challenge unclear requirements, and ensure alignment between stakeholders.
  • Ensure all required deliverables, including validation, certification, manufacturing readiness, and stakeholder approvals, are completed to enable successful product launches with zero critical compliance or quality gaps.
  • Act as a central point of expertise for technical, design, processing, and application-related aspects of relevant product ranges.

We are currently looking for a technically capable Project Manager who combines structured project execution with engineering insight and strong stakeholder management. You will be responsible for ensuring projects progress according to plan, budget, and agreed milestones while identifying risks, solving technical and organizational challenges, and driving teams toward successful outcomes. As a Project Manager within the Technology & Innovation Office, you will lead innovation projects from concept through successful market launch.

Who We Are Looking For

  • Strong problem solver with excellent analytical skills and the ability to identify risks, assess project health, and make sound decisions in dynamic environments.
  • Skilled stakeholder manager who can align, influence, and challenge cross-functional teams across R&D, Operations, Quality, Procurement, and Marketing.
  • Hands-on, resilient, results-driven, and proactive, with a focus on delivering successful outcomes.
  • Fluent in English and Dutch, both written and spoken.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20%.
