Job description

Are you a proactive project manager with experience in the pharmaceutical or life sciences industry? Would you like to lead challenging drug development projects for international clients and work closely with scientific experts on the development of new and improved medicines? Then this position at Ofichem Nijmegen (formerly Avivia) could be the right opportunity for you.

Who are we?

Ofichem Nijmegen is a pharmaceutical R&D service company specialising in formulation development, analytical method development, pharmaceutical analysis and excipient characterisation.

From our location in Nijmegen, we support pharmaceutical companies worldwide in transforming promising active pharmaceutical ingredients into robust drug products.

As part of Ofichem, we combine the former Avivia’s drug product development expertise with broader capabilities in API sourcing, development, manufacturing and finished dosage form production. This enables us to support customers across the drug development value chain, from early development through clinical supply and commercial manufacturing.

We work in an international, highly skilled team with short communication lines, a practical mindset and a strong focus on quality. Our mission is to help customers create new and improved medicines that benefit patients.

Job Description

As Project Manager Drug Product Development, you will lead pharmaceutical development projects from the initial customer request through to final delivery. You will be the main point of contact for the customer and the link between the customer, Ofichem Nijmegen’s R&D team and other internal or external stakeholders.

You will manage several projects simultaneously and ensure that activities are completed on time, within the agreed scope and budget, and in accordance with applicable quality requirements. You will maintain a clear overview of project plans, progress, risks, decisions and deliverables while ensuring transparent communication throughout the project lifecycle.

You will also help identify opportunities within existing customer relationships and contribute to the continued development and professionalisation of project management within Ofichem Nijmegen.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate pharmaceutical drug development and analytical projects.
  • Translate customer requests into clear project plans, timelines, budgets and deliverables.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams of formulation scientists, analytical chemists and other specialists.
  • Organise and chair internal project meetings and customer update meetings.
  • Monitor project progress, budgets, milestones and resource requirements.
  • Identify, assess and manage project risks, changes and escalations.
  • Ensure that project activities meet agreed quality and compliance requirements.
  • Prepare clear project updates and reports for customers and management.
  • Support the preparation of proposals, quotations and project scopes.
  • Recognise opportunities to expand existing customer relationships.
  • Contribute to process improvements and the continued growth of Ofichem.
