Job summary

Oceans of Energy B.V. is seeking a Project Engineer to join our Projects Department in the Netherlands.

You will coordinate test campaigns and marine operations, acting as the link between Engineering, Project Management and Asset Management to deliver offshore solar projects. You will contribute to developing delivery standards, supervise subcontractors, and may occasionally go offshore to support execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering (preferred), or a related field.
• Proven experience (1-3 years) in project engineering, preferably in renewable energy with offshore installations.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment both independently and as part of a team; team player.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities with a hands-on approach to execution; self-starter with analytical skills.
• Excellent communication skills, native Dutch and fluent English, with the ability to convey technical information clearly to diverse audiences.
• Willingness to travel to offshore locations as required.

Responsibilities

• Build, commission and install offshore floating solar farms and keep them operational per contract.
• Plan, prepare and execute marine/offshore operations (towing, anchor installations, hook-up, cable installation).
• Analyze and prepare project specifications; write/review technical specs; estimate materials and support sourcing.
• Support Business Development in tenders and subsidy requests, e.g., method and execution statements.
• Collaborate with design and engineering experts across disciplines.
• Resolve project technical issues for Customer and Project Lead.
• Manage project man-hour budget and schedule with input to Project Lead/Controller.
• Supervise subcontractors on mooring, cable design, installation engineering.
• Occasionally go offshore to support execution of scopes.
• Contribute to tools, methodologies, standards and procedures.

We are looking for a Project Engineer to join our Projects Department. As our project engineer you will be important in preparing andcoordinating the test campaigns and themarine operations. You will be the linking pin betweenEngineering, Project Management and Asset Management from a project execution perspective, and contribute to developing a delivery standard for future offshore solar projects.

Responsibilities and tasks

• Build,commission and install offshore floating solar farms and contribute to keep it operational as per contract with clients.

• Plan, prepare and execute the marine/offshore operations such as: towing operations, anchor installations, hook-up campaign and power cable installation operations.

• Analyze and prepare project specifications, writing and/or reviewing technical specifications, estimating materials, supporting sourcing for vendor quotations, directing designers and draftsmen on drawing requirements, and the development of clarifications and exceptions as well as technical responses.

• Provide support to Business Development department in tenders and subsidy requests, such as preparing method and execution statements.

• Collaborate with Design and Engineering experts (design engineers, hydrodynamic experts, mooring engineers, electrical experts, operations and maintenance engineers, etc).

• Resolve project technical issues for the Customer and Project Lead.

• Work with the Project Lead and Engineering team to maintain project man-hour budget and schedule. Provide input to Project lead and Project Controller regarding schedule and cost progress.

• Supervise subcontractors regarding project-specific engineering scopes (mooring system analysis, dynamic cable design, installation engineering, etc).

• Occasionally go offshore to support the execution / implementation of the scopes prepared by you.

• Provide input to development of tools, methodologies, standards and procedures.

• Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements related to offshore solar farm projects.

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering (preferred), or a related field. Master's degree preferred.

• Proven experience (1-3 years) in project engineering, preferably in the renewable energy sector with exposure to offshore installations.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment, both independently and as part of a team; team player who is motivated to take on a technical challenge.

• Demonstrated leadership abilities with a hands-on approach to execution; self-starter with creative and analytical skills.

• Excellent communication skills, native Dutch andfluent in English, with the ability to convey technical information clearly to diverse audiences.

• Willingness to travel to offshore locations as required.
