Job summary

Siemens in The Hague is seeking a Project Buyer to drive procurement for international datacenter projects across Europe and Asia, focusing on transformers, UPS systems, control cabinets and on-site services. You'll partner with engineering, sales and project management in a fast-paced, agile environment.

You will manage RFQs, lead negotiations, document contract awards and build a robust global supplier network.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of project procurement experience, with at least 3 years focused on procuring technical equipment and familiarity with international contracts.
• Fluency in English (spoken and written).
• Proactive, analytical, and resilient; thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Bachelor's degree in procurement/supply chain or NEVI 2 certification; MS Office and Power BI are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Execute complex end-to-end procurement RFQs within our scope of technical equipment (Transformers, Harmonic Filters, UPS, Cabinets, network boxes, IT hardware) for Siemens’ Medium and Low Voltage Switchgear & busbar systems; main focus on UPS & batteries and STS.
• Lead and coordinate RFQ requests and prepare total cost of ownership comparisons.
• Lead contract negotiations and secure price agreements with suppliers.
• Lead supplier selection, document contract awards, and support escalation procedures towards suppliers.
• Support in building and managing an international supplier network and drive continuous procurement process improvements.

Your Role

As a Project Buyer, you are part of a team that drives procurement for international datacenter projects across Europe and Asia, focusing on the procurement of complex technical components such as transformers, UPS Systems and control cabinets and related on-site services. You’ll be a key collaborator with engineering, sales, and project management, actively contributing to process improvement and supplier selection. You’ll join a close-knit, multicultural team of 16 in The Hague, where collaboration, respect, and humor are valued. This role thrives on speed and flexibility in an agile, occasionally chaotic environment.

Your Responsibilities

• Execute complex end-to-end procurement RFQ's within our procurement domain of technical Equipment's, such as Transformers, Harmonic Filters, UPS, Cabinets, network boxes, IT hardware and network component, etc. for client projects for Siemens’ Medium and Low Voltage Switchgears & busbar system. Your main focus will be on UPS & Batteries and Static Transfer Switches.
• Lead and Coordinate Requests for Quotations and prepare total cost of ownership comparisons incl. product specific price breakdown
• Lead contract negotiations and secure price agreements with various suppliers
• Lead the supplier selection, prepare and document contract awards
• Support in claim management and escalation procedures towards suppliers
• Support the Procurement Domain Responsible and its Deputy to build and manage a robust international supplier network, coordinating RFQs and negotiations.
• Drive continuous improvement in procurement processes, supporting strategic initiatives in sustainability and digitalization.
• Identify and lead cost out savings and efficiency gains.

Your Background

• Minimum 7 years of project procurement experience, with at least 3 years focused on procuring technical equipment and familiarity with international contracts.
• Strong affinity for technology, a deep understanding of complex technical products and fluency in English (spoken and written).
• Proactive, analytical, and resilient, thriving in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• A bachelor’s degree in procurement/supply chain or a NEVI 2 certification is preferred. Proficiency in MS Office and Power BI is a plus.
