Job summary

Applied Microelectronics AME, based in Brainport Eindhoven, seeks a Project Buyer to connect Engineering and Procurement for successful New Product Introductions. Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's level of working and thinking.
  • Degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, Engineering or another relevant technical discipline.
  • 2-4 years of experience in procurement within a technical manufacturing or high-tech environment.
  • Experience with project procurement, strategic sourcing or New Product Introduction (NPI) is an advantage.
  • Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and translate insights into actions.
  • Experience with ERP systems; SAP experience is a strong advantage.
  • Proactive, structured and solution-oriented way of working.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across multiple disciplines.
  • Fluent in English.

Responsibilities

  • Drive supplier and component selection for New Product Introduction (NPI) projects in line with the procurement category strategy.
  • Source and order prototypes, tooling and samples while supporting qualification and industrialization activities.
  • Identify and mitigate procurement risks related to supply continuity, quality, capacity, lead times, compliance and single-source dependencies.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize inventory and working capital through improvements in MOQ, lead times and supplier collaboration.
  • Collaborate closely with Engineering, Operations, Quality and Finance to ensure project milestones and procurement requirements are met.
  • Analyze procurement and supplier data to support informed decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Act as the procurement representative within multidisciplinary project teams and build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Drive cost optimization initiatives through supplier negotiations, should-cost analysis and value engineering.
  • Promote early supplier involvement during product development to improve manufacturability, cost efficiency, lead times and supply chain robustness.
  • Contribute to the further development of procurement processes and strategic supplier relationships.

Overview

Your Role:

Are you a procurement professional who enjoys working at the intersection of technology, supplier management and project execution?

At AME, we are looking for a Project Buyer who will play a key role in bringing innovative high-tech products to market. Working closely with Engineering, Operations, Quality and Supply Chain, you will ensure that the right suppliers, components and commercial agreements are in place to support successful New Product Introductions (NPI).

As the link between Engineering and Procurement, you will translate technical requirements into effective sourcing strategies while ensuring quality, cost efficiency and timely delivery. This role offers the opportunity to make a direct impact on the successful industrialization of new products within our fast-growing high-tech environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive supplier and component selection for New Product Introduction (NPI) projects in line with the procurement category strategy.

  • Source and order prototypes, tooling and samples while supporting qualification and industrialization activities.
