Job description

Who We Are

Magnus Energy helps organisations navigate the energy transition. As one of Europe’s leading energy consultancies, we support system operators, energy suppliers, regulatory authorities and many others from strategy through to delivery. From setting a new direction and reshaping organisations, to moving projects forward, delivering change and optimising operations.

Our diverse international team includes technical experts, program managers, management consultants and pragmatic problem‑solvers. With 17+ nationalities across five European hubs, we cover every aspect of the energy transition - working towards a secure, sustainable and affordable energy system, and a bright future for all.

What You Will Do

As a Program Manager (Implementation Lead), you will take a leading role in the delivery of complex single and/or multi‑company programs and projects in the energy sector. You will operate independently in multi‑client environments where you can reach the objectives with the proper balance between business diplomacy and perseverance.

You will work in settings where digitalisation, cybersecurity and architectural coherence are critical, but also limiting in terms of technical solutions. You should consider these challenges as an opportunity to be innovative.

You will make direct impact on project outcomes, while contributing to longer‑term strategic goals of our clients.

In this role, you will:
  • Lead and drive technical projects end‑to‑end with a content‑curious mindset (not only coordination, but also providing guidance and knowledge)
  • Structure and manage delivery, including planning, risks, dependencies and reporting
  • Take ownership of stakeholder alignment across business and IT representatives, vendors and other integration parties
  • Maintain a balance between diplomacy and pushing to reach the business goals on time
  • Bridge IT and business by explaining technical limitations in business terms, and turning business priorities into precise technical requirements
Who We Are Looking For

A proactive diplomatic leader, who consistently goes the extra mile and aims to exceed client expectations, with a broad interest in the European energy transition and the technology that is leading this.

You bring a strong consultancy mindset; structuring complex problems, forming clear perspectives, and guiding clients toward decisions. You combine analytical strength with interpersonal skills and are comfortable engaging stakeholders across both technical and business domains.

You also have experience in IT project or program management, preferably in complex multistakeholder environments and are eager to contribute to tomorrow's energy sector.

In addition you have:
  • A Master's degree with proven experience in project and program management, with clear ownership of delivery (around 5-7 years)
  • Experience working in complex stakeholder environments, including vendors and cross‑functional teams
  • Proven experience with (project/program) management of IT / IT‑OT implementation projects.
  • Experience in (Enterprise) Architecture, Cybersecurity and/or Procurement (EU Tender) processes
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders across all levels
  • Professional fluency in English
Nice to have
  • Danish, German or Dutch language skills
What We Offer
  • A stimulating working environment: a team of around 110+ consultants and experts. All motivated professionals who respect each other and want to learn from each other. No egos, but commitment and fun.
  • A truly international team. Our international team with 17+ nationalities works from offices in Naarden (the Netherlands) and satellite offices in Cologne (Germany), Brussels (Belgium), Copenhagen (Denmark) and Vienna (Austria).
  • A flexible way of working: Working for a variety of clients across Europe, we offer a flexible work environment tuned to the new work approach.
  • A unique opportunity for professional growth. We highly value the professional growth of our team. You will learn most "on the job" in this challenging position and work environment.
  • A professional academy. Next to this, we offer an extensive training program. Our Magnus Energy Academy provides a diverse programme, from courses targeting the skills and knowledge needed to perform as a consultant in the energy sector, to more specialised courses designed to complement your chosen growth path. We are always developing new trainings to keep meeting our consultants’ needs.
  • And, most importantly, the opportunity to contribute to a sustainable and resilient energy system across Europe - and a bright future for all.
