Leiden University invites a leading researcher to join the Social, Economic, and Organisational Psychology (SEO) unit as Professor of Social Decision-Making. You will drive cutting-edge research, deliver high-quality teaching across bachelor’s and master’s programmes, and take on governance roles within the institute.

The role emphasises Open Science, teamwork, and cross-disciplinary collaboration, with a focus on societal impact and international partnerships.

Qualifications

• Leiden University professor role with a focus on social/ economic psychology.
• Experience in open science and responsible research practices.
• Proven track record of securing external research funding and supervising PhD candidates.
• Strong teaching record across bachelor’s, master’s and research master’s programmes.

Responsibilities

• Lead a high-quality research programme with societal relevance within the SEO unit.
• Secure external funding and support colleagues in research skill development.
• Develop and deliver teaching within bachelor’s and master’s programmes and participate in programme development.
• Engage in governance and leadership roles within the section, institute, faculty, and university.
• Advocate Open Science and Recognition & Rewards, promoting Team Science and interdisciplinarity.
