Job summary

Leiden University seeks a Professor of Social Decision-Making to lead research, teaching, and leadership within the SEO unit of the Institute of Psychology. You will direct a high-impact research programme addressing cooperation, fairness, and group dynamics, while actively securing funding and contributing to teaching across degree programs.

You will advocate Open Science and Team Science, foster an inclusive climate, and take on governance roles to help shape strategic collaborations locally

Qualifications

• Proven track record of independent research leadership in social or economic psychology.
• Ability to secure external research funding.
• Experience teaching at bachelor’s and master’s level.
• Strong commitment to Open Science and Team Science.
• Ability to govern and lead at institute/section level.

Responsibilities

• Lead a high-quality research programme with broad societal impact.
• Secure external funding and supervise PhD candidates.
• Develop and deliver teaching across bachelor’s, master’s, and research master’s programmes.
• Engage in governance and strategic leadership within the unit.
