Job summary

Everience Benelux is seeking a Production Engineer to support train modernization and overhaul projects. You will translate engineering designs into manufacturing instructions for production teams working on train carbody structures, collaborating with Engineering, Production, Welding Coordination and Quality teams.

The role requires reading drawings, tolerances, welding sequences and quality requirements, plus creating BOMs and ERP documentation. Fluent Dutch is required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years as Production/Manufacturing/Work Preparation Engineer in production environments.
• Fluent Dutch, written and spoken.
• Ability to read and interpret 2D/3D drawings, tolerances and welding specs.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings and welding specs for manufacturability and safety.
• Convert designs into practical production processes and docs.
• Create detailed work instructions for welding and assembly.
• Maintain BOMs in the ERP system and coordinate prep activities.
• Support product/process validation during Try-Out stages.

Job Description

We are looking for a Production Engineer to support a train modernization and overhaul project. You will translate engineering designs, technical drawings, and welding specifications into clear and executable manufacturing instructions for production teams working on train carbody structures. You will work closely with Engineering, Production, Welding Coordination, and Quality teams to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality execution of manufacturing activities.

Responsibilities:

• Review technical drawings, revision standards, and welding specifications for manufacturability, quality, and safety.
• Convert designs into practical and efficient production processes.
• Develop detailed work instructions for welding, fabrication, and structural assembly activities.
• Translate dimensions, tolerances, welding sequences, and quality requirements into production documentation.
• Create and maintain production bills of materials (BOMs) within the ERP system.
• Coordinate work preparation activities with Production, Engineering, QHSE, and Welding teams.
• Support product and process validation during Try-Out and Pre-Try-Out phases.
• Implement engineering and production changes into work preparation documentation.

Qualifications

• MBO Level 4 qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, Metal Technology, or a comparable technical discipline.
• HBO working and thinking level.
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Production Engineer, Work Preparation Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, or similar role in a production environment.
• Experience creating work instructions for welding, fabrication, structural steel, or manufacturing activities.
• Ability to read and interpret 2D and 3D technical drawings, tolerances, welding symbols, and welding specifications.
• Experience linking drawings, materials, and welding procedures (WPS).
• Experience with ERP systems is an advantage.
• Fluent Dutch, written and spoken (required).
